DUCSU leaders meet Home Affairs Advisor
A 14-member delegation led by DUCSU VP Sadiq Qayem met the Home Affairs Advisor. During this, they presented various demands to Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, including the immediate arrest of those involved in the shooting incident of Inqilab Manch spokesperson and potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency Sharif Osman Hadi. The meeting with the Home Affairs Advisor was held at the Mini Conference Room of the Home Ministry at the Secretariat today (December 15) at around 2 pm.
Earlier, DUCSU leaders held a program to surround the Home Affairs Advisor’s office with the same demand. Today, around 1 pm, students gathered in front of DUCSU Bhaban of Dhaka University and started shouting slogans. Later, they faced police resistance when they moved towards Doel Chattar and High Court intersection. At one point, they broke through the police barricade and surrounded the home affairs adviser’s office. The DUCSU leaders’ three demands were – the arrest of terrorists involved in the shooting death of Sharif Osman Hadi, the recovery of all illegal weapons through a nationwide operation, and the arrest of the League’s ‘terrorists’.
