Double murder: Husband helped Ayesha escape

Police have arrested Ayesha, the main accused in the murder of a mother and daughter in the capital’s Mohammadpur, from Jhalakathi. After the murder, the domestic worker Ayesha shared the matter with her husband and her husband Rabbi helped her escape. DMP’s Tejgaon division ADC Mohammad Jewel Rana gave this information on Wednesday (December 10) afternoon.
He said that Mohammadpur police arrested her from the house of her grandfather-in-law in Nalchiti. After the murder, Ayesha told her husband Rabbi about the murder and they fled Dhaka. Her husband Rabbi helped Ayesha escape. Six months before the double murder, Ayesha had stolen from a house in Bachila, Mohammadpur. At that time, a complaint was filed against her. Based on that complaint, the police started searching for Ayesha. Finally, she was arrested in the morning. The reason for the murder will be known after interrogation.
Earlier, housewife Laila Afroz and her daughter, a ninth-grade student, Nafisa Lawal binte Azia, were stabbed to death on the seventh floor of a 14-story residential building on Shahjahan Road on Monday morning. One of the suspects in the murder was a domestic worker, Ayesha. She entered the house at 7:52 am wearing a burqa and by 9:30 am, she killed the mother and daughter, wearing Nafisa’s school uniform and leaving with a bag. Azizul Islam, the husband of the deceased Laila Afroz, filed a case with Mohammadpur Police Station on Monday night in connection with the double murder.
