Dismissed BDR members announce march towards Jamuna if demands not met

If no decision is taken to achieve their three-point demands, including reinstatement of the dismissed BDR members, by next Tuesday, the dismissed BDR and the family members of the BDR who are in jail have announced to hold another march towards Jamuna.

They made this announcement after a sit-in program at Shahbagh intersection on Monday (June 23). Despite the announcement of a ‘Long March to Jamuna’ program on that day, the protesters gathered at Shahbagh intersection around noon and started chanting slogans. When the police stopped them, they took out a march there. This stopped traffic in the area.

Earlier, the dismissed BDR members took out a procession from the Central Shaheed Minar area.

The protesters say that many innocent BDR members are in jail in the Peelkhana massacre. Besides, many have been dismissed without any reason. At that time, they also demanded that the investigation commission formed into the Peelkhana massacre be allowed to work independently.
