Director Raihan Rafi has loset his father.
Film director and screenwriter Raihan Rafi’s father Siraj Uddin Chowdhury has passed away. He died at 2:34 am on Sunday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un).
Actress Tama Mirza announced the news in a Facebook post. The actress wrote, ‘Raihan Rafi’s father is no longer with us (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un). Uncle passed away at United Hospital at 2:34 am. I never imagined that I would have to write anything to inform you. Uncle will be buried tomorrow, Tuesday, in their family graveyard in Sylhet.’
She also wrote, ‘For Aunty, for Rafi, for Apu – for the entire family, everyone will pray so that they do not break down in this difficult time. May Allah keep a person like clay by his side, Insha Allah.’
Siraj Uddin Chowdhury had been suffering from various diseases due to old age for a long time. However, his physical condition deteriorated a lot in the last few months. He was undergoing treatment in the ICU until his death.
Incidentally, Raihan Rafi directed the movie ‘Suranga’ in 2023. Through this movie, Afran Nishore made his debut on the big screen. Tama Mirza acted opposite him. A deep friendship developed between the actress and Rafi through work.
Also, his first movie directed by Rafi was ‘Poramon 2’. Actors Siam Ahmed and Pooja Cherry played the lead roles in this movie.
