Diplomatic passport holders can visit Pakistan without visa: Press Secretary
Bangladesh diplomatic and official passport holders can visit Pakistan without visa, said the press secretary to the chief advisor, Shafiqul Alam. He gave this information at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday (August 21). The briefing was held after the meeting of the Advisory Council in the morning. The meeting of the Advisory Council was held at the Tejgaon office under the chairmanship of Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. In this meeting, the Advisory Council approved an agreement with Pakistan to get reciprocal visa exemption facilities for official and diplomatic passports. Regarding this, the press secretary said, an agreement will be signed with Pakistan for five years in this regard. Like Bangladesh, diplomatic and official passport holders of Pakistan will also be able to visit Bangladesh without visa. We have made such agreements with 31 other countries. In the briefing, Shafiqul Alam said that various domestic organizations, including Bangladesh Bank and international organizations, are working to bring back the 400 billion taka that was laundered during the Awami League government. However, it will take a few years. He commented that this government will be able to show progress as expected. He also mentioned that the chief advisor will go to Cox’s Bazar on August 25 to participate in an international conference on the Rohingya. After the interim government came to power, each ministry has worked on reforms on its own initiative and has not been waiting for a reform commission, Shafiqul Alam said.
