Dhaka’s air has become polluted as early as 7 am. The city is now ranked sixth in the list of cities with the most polluted air in the world. At 9:40 am today, Tuesday, the city’s score was 186, which is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups.
This information has been revealed in the Air Quality Index (AQI) of IQAir, a technology company that monitors air quality.
The list is now topped by the Indian city of Delhi with a score of 248. In addition, the Iraqi capital Baghdad is in second place with a score of 226, the Pakistani city of Karachi is in third place with a score of 219, another Pakistani city Lahore is in second place with a score of 217, and the Chinese city of Hangzhou is in fifth place with a score of 202.
An AQI score of zero to 50 is considered good. 51 to 100 is considered moderate. And a score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. 151 to 200 is considered unhealthy.
Similarly, an AQI score of 201 to 300 is considered very unhealthy. And if it is more than 301, it is considered disastrous.
