Dhaka again in ‘unhealthy’ condition due to air pollution
The air pollution level in the capital Dhaka is not decreasing. Today, Wednesday, the city is in the second position in the world’s air pollution list. That is, the air in Dhaka is in the ‘unhealthy’ level.
Dhaka’s AQI score was 164 at 9 am today. This information was revealed in the Air Quality Index (AQI).
According to the AQI index, Amsterdam in the Netherlands is in the first position in the world’s air pollution list with a score of 176. Kampala in Uganda is in the third position, with a score of 161. Beijing in China and Chiang Mai in Thailand are in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively, with equal scores of 160.
According to the AQI standard, if the score is 50 to 100, then the air quality is considered ‘moderate’. If the AQI index is between 101 and 150, it is considered ‘unhealthy for sensitive groups’. At this time, sensitive people are generally advised not to work outdoors for long periods of time. A reading between 151 and 200 is considered ‘unhealthy’, while a reading between 201 and 300 is considered ‘very unhealthy’. Furthermore, a reading above 301 is considered ‘hazardous’, which poses a serious health risk to residents.
