Dengue deaths continue unabated, 3 more people die in 24 hours
Three people have died of dengue, a disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, in the last 24 hours. In addition, 428 more people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue fever during this period. This information was given in a report sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday (August 6). According to the report, from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am on Wednesday, 104 people have been admitted to hospitals in Barisal division (excluding City Corporation), 113 in hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan, 74 in Dhaka division, 39 in Chittagong division, 50 in Rajshahi division, 30 in Khulna division, 4 in Rangpur division and 14 in Mymensingh division. So far this year, 92 people have died of the disease. Among the deceased, 53 are men and 39 are women. In addition, 22,812 people have been admitted to hospitals so far this year due to dengue. Of these, more than ten thousand patients were admitted to the hospital in July alone.
