Dengue claims 3 more lives, 425 new cases

Three patients have died of dengue in the last 24 hours. During this period, 425 new cases have been reported. This information was revealed in a report sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Tuesday (July 8). According to the report, Barisal was the most affected from 8 am on Monday (July 7) to 8 am today, Tuesday. 120 new patients have been admitted to hospitals in this district. In addition, 88 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City, 36 in Dhaka Division (excluding City Corporation), 98 in Chittagong Division, 48 in Rajshahi Division, 18 in Khulna Division, 1 in Sylhet Division and 11 in Mymensingh Division. With this, 51 people have died of dengue so far this year. And 13,188 people have been infected. From January to December 31, 2024, a total of 1,01,214 people were infected with dengue and a total of 575 people died from dengue. Earlier, from January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue, while a total of 3,21,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue.
