Democracy is starting again in the country from today: Prime Minister
Parliamentary Leader and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that democracy is starting again in Bangladesh from today. He said this in the first session of the 13th National Parliament today, Thursday (March 12).
The Prime Minister said that the democratic journey is starting again in Bangladesh from today. The government wants to make this Parliament a center of debate and discussion and a center for solving national problems. He also said that BNP will work to make every citizen of the country self-reliant.
Tarique Rahman said that national leader Khaleda Zia fought for democracy until the last day of her life. She did not compromise with dictatorship or fascism. He expressed deep respect for Khaleda Zia. He also expressed respect for former President Ziaur Rahman.
Since the Speaker and Deputy Speaker were not elected, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman first declared Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain as the President.
After the announcement of the name of the speaker in the session, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher expressed their full support. It is worth noting that the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be determined under the chairmanship of Parliament Speaker Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain.
