Death toll in gas cylinder explosion rises to 3

Another person, Mahbubur Rahman (45), who was burnt in an explosion at a gas cylinder warehouse in Chandanaish, Chittagong, has died. With this, the death toll in the explosion has risen to three.
He died while undergoing treatment at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka on Sunday night (September 22). Mahbubur Rahman is the son of Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan of Chandanaish Dakshin Baltoli village in Chittagong.
Resident surgeon of the hospital, Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, confirmed the matter. He said that Mahbubur Rahman died in the intensive care unit (ICU) at 2:40 am on Sunday while undergoing treatment. He suffered 50 percent burns on his body.
Another person, Riaz, is undergoing treatment at the Burn Institute. His condition is also critical, the doctor said.
Earlier, two more people, Yusuf and Idris, died at this hospital on Saturday night. Idris is a resident of Bailtali Union of Chandanaish Upazila. And Yusuf’s home is in Cox’s Bazar district, but he used to live in Bailtali of Chandanaish.
Incidentally, an explosion occurred in a gas cylinder warehouse early Wednesday morning. Ten people, including the owner of the warehouse, were injured. After the explosion, fire spread and the warehouse also burned down. It is learned that gas was being refilled from large cylinders to small cylinders illegally there.
