Daughter dies trying to save electrocuted mother

A mother and daughter died after being electrocuted in Nachol, Chapainawabganj. The accident occurred in Dakshinpara of Nejampur Union of the upazila on Wednesday (August 27) morning. The deceased are Hawa Begum (42), wife of Md. Alamgir of Nejampur Dakshinpara, and daughter Ayesha Begum (23). Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nachol Police Station Monirul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident. He said that a battery-powered auto-rickshaw was being charged at Alamgir’s house. Hawa Begum was electrocuted while trying to pick up a bag from the auto-rickshaw around 5:30 am. While trying to save her, her daughter Ayesha Begum was also electrocuted and died on the spot. On receiving the information, the police recovered the bodies of the mother and daughter. Necessary legal action will be taken in this regard, said Nachol Police Station OC Monirul Islam.
