Cylinder explosion in Ashulia again, 3 of a family burnt
Three members of a family, including a child, were burnt in a gas cylinder explosion in Ashulia again. They have been admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in critical condition.
The incident took place in the Kathgara area of Ashulia this Sunday morning. The burnt victims are Md. Jahangir (32), his wife Beauty Akhter (28) and their baby daughter Toha (5).
Locals said that the husband, wife and their daughter were burnt in the gas cylinder explosion while they were preparing breakfast in the morning. They were quickly rescued and taken to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, resident physician of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, confirmed the matter. He said that 33 percent of the burnt victims were burnt in Beauty’s body, 91 percent in Jahangir’s and 80 percent in baby Toha’s.
The burnt victims’ airways were burnt. The doctor said that the condition of all of them is critical.
Earlier, three people, including two women, died in a gas cylinder explosion at the house of one Amjad Bepari in Gomail area of Ashulia on Friday night. Eight people who were burned in the incident are undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in critical condition.
