Cyclone ‘Dana’ may occur in Bay of Bengal
A low pressure has formed over east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Andaman Sea. It may further intensify into a cyclonic storm.
Meteorologist Omar Farooq told the media, “There is a low pressure. Currently there is no warning signal for the country’s seaports. But it can get progressively stronger. I am afraid of cyclone due to low pressure. Cyclones are likely to form within this week.
Although the Meteorological Office had predicted the cyclone on October 1 this month.
They said, three low pressure areas may develop in the Bay of Bengal this month. Out of which a low pressure may turn into a cyclone according to the Meteorological Office.
Besides, the agency also said that there is a possibility of more than normal rainfall in the country as a whole.
It is known that the name of this possible cyclone has been given as ‘Dana’. It is the name given to Qatar.
In this regard, the India Meteorological Department said that a cyclone is currently located in the North Andaman Sea. It is gradually intensifying into a cyclone. The cyclone is likely to hit the coast of West Bengal and Odisha.
According to the latest bulletin of the India Meteorological Department, a low pressure will form over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Andaman Sea in the next 24 hours. That system will further intensify into a deep depression next Tuesday. After that, it is likely to become a cyclonic storm in the east-central Bay of Bengal on Wednesday.
