Cox’s Bazar: Wife raped after husband killed, main accused arrested

The local people have arrested Birel Chakma, the murderer of a woman who raped her husband in Jhilanja Union of Cox’s Bazar and handed him over to the police. The incident took place in the Uttaran residential area of ​​the union on Saturday night (September 13). The knife used in the murder was recovered during the incident. The deceased Ranjan Chakma and the murderer Birel Chakma live in Rangamati district. Confirming the matter, Additional Superintendent of Police of Cox’s Bazar district Jasim Uddin Chowdhury said that Birel Chakma (55) had been living in the Uttaran residential area for a long time. Ranjan Chakma and his wife had gone to Birel Chakma’s house to collect money owed by a person in Cox’s Bazar. Since then, Birel Chakma had been making lewd suggestions to Ranjan Chakma’s wife. Last night, Birel Chakma and Ranjan Chakma sat down to drink alcohol together. At one point, Ranjan Chakma asked his wife to leave the house and a fight broke out between them. At one point, Birel Chakma killed Ranjan by hitting him on the head with a sharp knife and then forcibly raped his wife. Later, his wife went outside and informed the locals. They tied up Birel Chakma. When the police were informed, the police came and arrested him. The body of the deceased is in the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
