Couple beaten, robbed in Jatrabari, husband dies
A man was beaten to death after breaking into a house in the Bibirbagicha area of the capital, police said. The deceased has been identified as Ismail Khan. Ismail’s wife Saleha Begum has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious injuries in the incident. Police and relatives said that the incident took place around 4 am on Tuesday (July 8) according to relatives. It is believed that Ismail was beaten and strangled to death. His wife Saleha Begum was stabbed. Ismail and Saleha Begum were brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious injuries by their relatives at around 6 am. After an examination, doctors declared Ismail dead. His wife Saleha Begum is currently undergoing treatment. The OC of Jatrabari Police Station said that the couple lived on the second floor of a four-story house in the Bibirbagicha area. This morning, someone broke into the house by cutting the grill, killing one of them and seriously injuring the other.
