Corruption, not nepotism – we want politics of principles and ideals: Alhaj Md. Shamsul Alam
A courtyard meeting was held at the initiative of the C Unit of the West Baklia Ward No. 17 BNP to implement the 31-point program presented by the Acting Chairman of the BNP, Mr. Tarique Rahman.
Alhaj Md. Shamsul Alam, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the BNP, was present as the chief guest of the meeting. He said that corruption, nepotism and immorality should be removed from politics and administration and politics should be established on the basis of principles, ideals and patriotism. We should take the responsibility of running the state with the mentality of serving the people. We should work unitedly for the party instead of grouping among ourselves. He also said that the Awami League destroyed Baklia and they are still continuing the politics of destruction today.
The courtyard meeting was chaired by the President of the C Unit of the Ward No. 17 BNP, Hossain Sawdagar, and moderated by General Secretary Nur Muhammad.
Metropolitan BNP Deputy Office Secretary Md. Khorshed, former Ward No. 17 BNP President Sekandar, Convener Md. Imran, Senior Joint Convener Md. Abdul Quader and Member Secretary Md. Mohiuddin Mizan were present as special guests.
Ward Joint Conveners Raja Mia, Ariful Islam Duke, Shahid Kazemi, Atiq, Md. Selim, Halim, Aziz, Mahmudur Rahman Pakhi, Chabur, S. M. Faruk, B Unit Convener Alauddin and other ward BNP leaders and activists were also present.
Metropolitan Volunteer Party Member Md. Hanif, Ward Volunteer Party Convener Md. Bablu, Member Secretary Faruk, East Baklia Ward No. 18 Volunteer Party Member Secretary Md. Yunus, Members Sagar, Abu Saddar and others were also present in the meeting.
Besides, Baklia Jubo Dal organizers Md. Raihan, Zahed, Ashraf, Rony, Jewel, Johnny, Sumon and numerous leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal’s branches and affiliates including Emon, Abid were present. The speakers said that it is possible to re-establish democracy, good governance and people’s rights in the country through the implementation of Tarique Rahman’s 31-point program. They expressed their conviction that BNP will regain the trust of the people in Baklia.
