Cooperation of all parties is desirable for acceptable elections: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasiruddin has sought cooperation of all political parties to make the upcoming national elections acceptable. He said this in his opening remarks on Sunday (November 16) on the second day of dialogue with registered political parties ahead of the 13th National Parliament elections.
The EC will hold talks with 12 more parties tomorrow. Talks are underway with 6 political parties earlier in the day. At the beginning of the meeting, the CEC said that the commission will take advice from political parties to ensure equal opportunities for all. Fair elections depend on the proper implementation of the electoral code of conduct. He urged all parties to be diligent in this regard.
The parties participating in the first phase of the dialogue are- Gano Forum, Gano Front, Islamic Front Bangladesh, Islami Oikya Jote, Bangladesh Supreme Party-BSP and Bangladesh Jatiya Party. On the other hand, from 2 pm to 4 pm, there will be a dialogue with the Bangladesh Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Bangladesh National Awami Party, Trinamool BNP, Krishak Sramik Janata League, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, and Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
