Control of Gaza depends on Israel: Trump’s comments
Whether the entire Gaza Strip will be occupied depends on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This was stated by US President Donald Trump. Trump said that he would not block a possible Israeli plan to occupy Gaza. This was reported by Al Jazeera on Wednesday (August 6). Asked on Tuesday about the news that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had decided to occupy the entire Palestinian territory, Trump said that he was more focused on feeding the people of Gaza. The US president told reporters that he wanted to focus on making sure that the people of Gaza can eat. I can’t really say anything about anything else. It pretty much depends on Israel. Washington provides Israel with billions of dollars in military aid every year, and this assistance has increased significantly since Israel’s operation in Gaza began in October 2023. Since 2023, most of Gaza has been reduced to rubble by Israeli attacks. In addition, 86 percent of the territory has become a militarized zone after the Palestinians were ordered to be forcibly removed from Gaza. Meanwhile, Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that he would occupy the entire Gaza Strip, a plan that has raised concerns about the safety of the remaining Israeli prisoners held by Hamas and other Palestinian groups. In this regard, the top UN official, Miroslav Zenka, said on Tuesday that the consequences of a complete occupation of Gaza would be dire. Zenka told the UN Security Council, “International law is clear on this point. Gaza will remain an integral part of a future Palestinian state.”
