Conspiracy to postpone elections due to deterioration of law and order: Dr. Zahid
BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has said that there is a conspiracy to postpone the elections by deteriorating the law and order situation across the country. He said that the way the interim government and the Election Commission are progressing, BNP is hopeful that the elections will be held within the promised time of the Chief Advisor. He said this after visiting the venue of the BNP professionals’ discussion meeting on the occasion of the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising at the Engineers Institution in the capital on Tuesday (July 15) morning. Responding to the Jamaat leader’s comments on Monday, Dr. Zahid said that the people will decide who will show whom the red card. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party does not consider any discussion or criticism based on who said what. Even the criticism of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is part of a planned conspiracy, Dr. Zahid said. However, BNP does not want to step into that conspiracy, nor does it want to react. The people of Bangladesh are eagerly waiting for democracy under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. He said, BNP never condones or supports injustice. We want the criminals to be brought to justice. This is the position of BNP. BNP does not want any mass terror.
