Consensus Commission meeting on state appointments and fundamental rights today
The National Consensus Commission is meeting with political parties today for the last day of discussions on the provisions for the appointment of the Public Service Commission, ACC, Auditor General and Comptroller and Ombudsman. The 23rd day of the second phase of the commission’s dialogue is scheduled to begin at around 11:30 am on Thursday (July 31). The agenda of the discussion also includes the method of forming the upper house, the election and powers of the President, and the expansion of fundamental rights of citizens. The commission hopes that the unresolved proposals can be resolved by today. As usual, all the political parties participating in the meeting are scheduled to participate today.
