Coming to power is impossible unless India’s hegemony is broken: Sarjis Alam
National Citizens Party (NCP) northern chief organizer Sarjis Alam said that no other party can come to power in Bangladesh with India’s blessings. Sarjis made these comments at an NCP protest rally in front of the National Museum in Shahbagh in the capital on Tuesday (September 23) evening. The rally was held in protest against the attack and egg-throwing incident by Awami League leaders and activists on party leaders visiting the United States.
Sarjis said, “It must be remembered that the mass uprising of 2024 was not only against Sheikh Hasina or the fascist Awami League. The mass uprising of March 24 was also against the hegemony that India had established in Bangladesh. Hegemonic India has not yet apologized. It has kept the murderer Hasina under its protection. No other party can come to power in Bangladesh without their blessings.”
Addressing BNP, the NCP leader said, “We want to know from them – when they are constantly losing the trust of the people to come to power, do they want to come to power by negotiating with India, pleasing them, patting the back of the Awami League, negotiating with the Jatiya Party?”
He said, “We want to make it clear – be it BNP, any other political party or the Election Commission; if they think that they will go against the verdict of the people, be influenced by various influential people, be influenced by agency-groups or individuals, cling to our brand, criticize us and come to power – their hopes will not be fulfilled.”
The NCP chief organizer warned that whoever shows character, pleases them, pats the back of the Awami League and comes to power. Those who are walking with their backs in Bangladesh, will not be able to walk with their backs in this country.
