College student stabbed to death, 4 arrested
A college student named Jihad (20) was stabbed to death by robbers in Tongi, Gazipur. Police have arrested 4 robbers in this incident.
The murder took place on Shafiuddin Road, Auchpara, under Tongi West Police Station, early Sunday (October 19).
The deceased college student Jihad is the son of Jahangir Alam of Auchpara area of Tongi. He is a student of Brahmanbaria Polytechnic Institute. His permanent residence is in Bhangnahati village of Sreepur Municipality area of Gazipur district.
The arrested are Abdullah (20), Swadhin (20) and Alamin (24). They are all residents of Ershadnagar area of Tongi. The name of the other person arrested is not known.
Police said that Jihad left his house around 11 pm last Sunday with 3,000 taka. Meanwhile, four robbers blocked the path of college student Jihad on Shafiuddin Sarkar Academy Road in Auchpara, Tongi, intending to rob him. When Jihad resisted, the robbers stabbed him repeatedly, seriously injuring him. Locals rescued him and he died on the way to the hospital. At around 1:30 am, police arrested four robbers from Ershad Nagar, Tongi, on charges of involvement in the incident. In this regard, ASI Zahirul Islam of Tongi West Police Station told us that four robbers have been arrested in the murder of the college student.
