Cocktail explosion from moving pickup in Manikganj

The killers have detonated a cocktail explosion from a moving pickup in the Manikganj bus stand area. Many believe that this incident took place as part of the Dhaka lockdown program announced by the Awami League. The explosion occurred at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday (November 12). After this incident, law enforcement agencies have increased surveillance in important places in the district city.
According to police and local sources, a pickup coming at a high speed from Manikganj city suddenly exploded a cocktail while reaching the bus stand area. Immediately after the explosion, the vehicle quickly left the scene and fled towards Aricha along the Dhaka-Aricha highway.
Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Manikganj Sadar Police Station, told us, “Upon receiving information about the incident, the police immediately went to the scene and brought the situation under control. Security measures have been tightened and efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the cocktail explosion.” Mobile units and reserve forces are in the field to monitor the movements of suspicious persons and search vehicles.’
Meanwhile, the District Intelligence Branch (DB) said that special surveillance is being carried out in the Dhaka-Aricha highway, Paturia ferry ghat, Manikganj city, Shivaloy, Singair and Ghior upazila sadar areas. A joint patrol team of RAB and police has already been deployed in the field to prevent possible sabotage.
