Clashes over dispute between two teenagers in Sylhet

A clash between people from several villages in Sylhet’s Tukerbazar over a dispute between two teenagers has resulted in casualties. The incident took place at midnight on Wednesday (February 4).
Police said that people from Kumargaon and Saheb villages first got involved in a clash due to a verbal altercation between two teenagers. Later, people from nearby villages also joined in. Several people were injured when bricks were thrown by both sides. The clash lasted for about an hour. During this time, traffic on the Sylhet-Sunamganj regional highway was closed. Shops were also vandalized during the clash.
Upon receiving information about the incident, members of the law enforcement agencies went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
