City corporation elections to be held in phases according to their tenure: Mirza Fakhrul

The political administrators of six city corporations, including two cities in Dhaka, have joined the local government ministry. They submitted their joining letters to Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam.
At that time, Mirza Fakhrul Islam had said that the city corporation elections would be held in phases according to their tenure. The parliament will decide whether city elections will be held on party symbols in the future. The new six administrators said that they will work to repair roads, prevent mosquitoes, traffic jams and corruption. Targets will be set for long-defunct city corporations to ensure public services.
State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam said that political leaders have been appointed so that they can work better than government officials. Earlier, Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam had said that the government still has no plans to appoint political administrators in municipalities.
