Citizens of 74 countries will not need a visa to travel to China!

China is once again becoming a hotbed of foreign tourists. Interest is growing in the introduction of visa-free entry for citizens of 74 countries for up to 30 days. Beijing has taken this initiative to boost the post-Covid economy and tourism sector. Even after the lifting of Covid restrictions, there were only 13.8 million foreign tourists in China in 2023, which is less than half of what it was before the pandemic. And so Beijing has opened its doors to foreigners by revamping its visa policy. Several countries from Germany, France, Spain to the Middle East and Latin America are going to get this special benefit. Until July this year, citizens of 74 countries will be able to stay in China without a visa for up to a month. Most of the list is European countries and there are a few new additions, including Malaysia and Uzbekistan. Experts consider such an initiative to be a breakthrough for the country’s tourism. Although China does not have visa-free facilities for citizens of any major African country. And citizens of some countries like the UK, Czech Republic, Sweden, Lithuania, Ukraine and Russia have limited transit visas, through which they can enter China for 10 days. But then they have to return to another country. Meanwhile, wealthy European countries like Sweden have also been left out of this list, which is due to bilateral tensions.
