Chief Advisor calls some experts to know about earthquake risk
Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called some experts to know about the country’s earthquake risk. Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan gave this information. She gave this information at a RAJUK discussion on preparedness and measures to reduce earthquake risk in the capital on Monday (November 24) afternoon.
The Environment Advisor said that the risk review and assessment should be completed within 6 months to a year. A separate area-based consulting firm will be given the responsibility of conducting the survey to know about the risk. Syeda Rizwana Hasan also commented on increasing the capacity of RAJUK and completing the survey work quickly. In the discussion, Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan said that steps will be taken soon to increase the capacity of RAJUK. Work is underway to form a trust to deal with the risk.
