SUST Chhatra League president Khalilur Rahman arrested
RAB-9 has arrested Chhatra League President Khalilur Rahman of Sylhet’s Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He was arrested in a raid on Bhaluka in Mymensingh at around 1 am on Saturday. Assistant Superintendent of Police of Sylhet RAB-9 Moshihur Rahman Sohel confirmed the arrest on Sunday morning.
He said that there is a case against Khalilur Rahman under section 143/147/148/324/307/302/34 of the Penal Code at Kotwali police station. After his arrest, he was handed over to Kotwali police station.
The arrested Khalilur Rahman is the son of Md Abdul Awal of Shibpur village of Kendua upazila in Netrokona.
Before this, General Secretary of Shabi Prabi Chhatra League Sajibur Rahman was arrested from Raipura police station area of Narsingdi last Tuesday around 1:30 am.
It should be noted that Shabi Chhatra League president Khalilur Rahman is the accused in the murder case filed in connection with the death of journalist ATM Turab on July 19 during the anti-government student movement of Awami League. He is also an accused in the murder case of university student Rudra Sen, who fell into water and died in police chase in Shabiprabi area during the agitation. Apart from these two, Khalilur Rahman is one of the accused in several other violent incidents during the movement.
