Chhatra Dal’s stance before the Election Commission

Chhatra Dal leaders and activists have gathered on the road in front of the Election Commission building to implement the EC office siege program in protest of three issues, including the biased behavior and questionable decisions of the Election Commission (EC) regarding postal ballots and political involvement in decisions on various issues. A large number of leaders and activists of the organization started gathering in front of the Election Commission office from 10 am today, Sunday (January 18).
Chhatra Dal’s central president Rakibul Islam Rakib and general secretary Nasiruddin Nasir, along with top leaders of the central parliament, are present in the sit-in program. During this time, the leaders and activists raised slogans against the Election Commission, mentioning various ‘controversial’ decisions, and expressed a strong stance to achieve their demands.

Chhatra Dal’s 3 complaints are-

1. The Election Commission has taken biased and questionable decisions regarding postal ballots, which has raised serious doubts about the impartiality of the election process.
2. Under pressure from a particular political group, the EC is taking stubborn and short-sighted decisions instead of responsible and reasonable decisions, which calls into question the independence and professionalism of the Commission.
3. Due to the direct influence and interference of a particular political party, the EC has issued an unprecedented and controversial notification regarding the student union elections of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, which is a warning signal for the democratic practices of the university.
Extensive security measures have been taken in the area around this sit-in program of Chhatra Dal in front of the Election Building.
