Chhatra Dal worker stabbed to death in Panchagarh
A Chhatra Dal worker named Jabed Rahman Joy (19) was stabbed to death by an opponent in Panchagarh district town. The incident took place in front of the Cinema Hall Market in Panchagarh district town at 8:30 pm on Wednesday (August 6). The deceased Jabed Rahman Joy is the son of Zahirul Haque from the old camp area of the district town. A tense situation prevails in the area following the incident. The agitators have closed all the shops in the city. On the other hand, Chhatra Dal has announced that the Chhatra Dal worker will not be buried until the accused is arrested. Additional law enforcement forces have been deployed in the city to control the situation. According to the police, due to previous enmity, there were several clashes between the group of Chhatra Dal worker Jabed Rahman Joy and another Chhatra Dal worker Al Amin’s group from the Notunbasti area of the city since Wednesday afternoon. When Joy went alone in front of the Cinema Hall Market in the district town at night, there was another altercation with 10-12 opponents there. At one point, Al Amin stabbed Joy in the stomach. Later, locals took him to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital in a seriously injured condition, from where he was referred to Rangpur Medical College. Joy died on the way. Dr. Rezwanullah, a doctor on duty at Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, said that the young man had a wound on one of his palms. In addition, his intestines had come out due to a sharp weapon hit on his stomach or side. We put it inside, stitched it and referred him to Rangpur. Panchagarh Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Shaimi Imtiaz said that the young man was stabbed to death by an opponent due to a previous enmity. The names of the two people involved in the incident have been identified as Al Amin and Parvez. Both the killer and the victim are said to be involved in the Chhatra Dal. The body will be sent for autopsy. He also said that the police and army are conducting a drive to arrest those involved in the incident.
