Chaksu elections postponed by 3 days, voting on October 15

The Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (Chaksu) elections have been postponed by three days. The Chaksu elections will be held on October 15. The Election Commission announced this information on Tuesday (October 23) afternoon.
At the request of the candidates, the Chaksu elections will be held on October 15 instead of October 12, the Election Commission said.
Earlier, the Election Commission released the preliminary list of candidates for the Chaksu elections yesterday. It was seen that the candidatures of 19 people out of the nomination papers submitted were cancelled. Of these, two were for the VP post and one for the GS post.
1,162 people have collected nomination papers for this year’s Central and Hall Parliament elections. Out of these, 931 people have submitted them. 25 people have submitted their nomination papers for the VP post, 22 people have submitted their nomination papers for the GS and AGS posts.
It is to be noted that the total number of voters in this year’s Chaksu elections is 27,637. According to the changed schedule, voting will be held on October 15. The last Chaksu election was held on November 8, 1990.
