Case filed in Siddhirganj against Sheikh Rehana, Joy, Putul.
Three more cases have been filed in Siddhirganj Police Station on the orders of the court in connection with the attempted murder during the anti-discrimination student movement. A total of 1,077 accused, including those named in the complaint and those unknown, have been named in three separate cases.
Sheikh Rehana, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Samaya Wazed Putul, Obaidul Quader and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal have been made accused in one of the three cases. In addition, former Dhaka South Mayor Said Khokon has been made an accused in one case. Former Narayanganj-4 MP Shamim Osman has been made the main accused in two cases.
It is learned that on December 26, Md. Sabbir (20), who was injured during the anti-discrimination student movement, filed a complaint with Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Shamim Osman, former councilor of Nashik Ward No. 6 Matiur Rahman Moti, Shamim Osman’s son Oyon Osman, nephew Ajmeri Osman, former mayor of Dhaka South Said Khokon, and 156 others filed an attempt to murder case in the court of Nool Mohsin.
In view of this, the court ordered Siddhirganj Police Station to accept the application in its entirety and take necessary action. Later, the case was registered as an FIR at Siddhirganj Police Station on January 2.
Meanwhile, in view of two more applications by the plaintiffs, the court has ordered Siddhirganj Police Station to register a case. The plaintiff in one of the cases is Md. Abul Hossain Talukder (46). Shamim Osman, a former member of parliament from Narayanganj-4 constituency, was made the main accused in this case. In addition, Shamim Osman’s brother, former MP from Narayanganj-5 constituency and former president of the businessmen’s organization BAKMEA, Selim Osman, was also made an accused. In addition, Shamim Osman’s son Ayan Osman, nephew Ajmeri Osman, Siddhirganj Thana Awami League General Secretary, including a total of 53 accused in the complaint. In addition, 300 unknown people were made accused in the case.
The plaintiff in another case is Md. Alhaj. The number of accused in the complaint is 268. In addition, 300 unknown people have been made accused. The main accused in this case is Awami League General Secretary and former Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader. In addition, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Sheikh Rehena, Sajib Wazed Joy, Saima Wazed Putul have been made accused. Apart from individuals from Narayanganj, residents of Dhaka, Madaripur, Satkhira, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Jhalokati, Meherpur, Brahmanbaria, Jessore and Comilla have also been named as accused in the cases.
Confirming the authenticity of the cases, Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahinur said that a case was registered on January 2 in the name of 156 people in connection with the attempted murder. The court has ordered the registration of cases in the wake of two more applications from the plaintiffs. There are 268 accused in one case and 53 in the other. 600 people have been named as unknown accused in the cases. The process of registering those two applications as cases is also under process.
