Case filed against Dipjol for acid throwing and beating

A case has been filed against film actor Monowar Hossain Dipjol and two others on charges of acid throwing and beating. The CID has been directed to investigate and submit a report. On Tuesday (July 8), a woman named Rajida Akhter (35) filed a petition in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam. At that time, the court recorded the plaintiff’s statement and directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate and submit a report. Plaintiff’s lawyer Mujahidul Islam confirmed this information. The other accused in the case is Monowar Hossain Dipjol’s PS Md. Faisal. Earlier, a murder case was filed against 138 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen, actor and businessman Monowar Hossain Dipjol. The victim’s mother, Renu, filed the case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Farah Diba Chanda on September 2 last year. The court had ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the allegations and submit a report. Several cases have been filed against Dipjol at different times for various reasons. Notable among them are the murder case, the arms case and the case related to the elections of the Artists’ Association.
