Bus hits truck on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway, 5 injured
Five people were injured when a Royal Paribahan bus hit a truck that had lost control on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Srinagar, Munshiganj. The accident occurred at around 2 am on Tuesday (July 29) in the Dugachi Bazar area of the upazila. However, the names and identities of the injured were not immediately known. It is learned that the accident occurred when a Royal Paribahan passenger bus going from Dhaka to Benapole lost control and hit the back of a truck that was standing. At least five passengers were injured. Immediately after the incident, the Srinagar Fire Service Station personnel reached the spot and rescued the injured and sent them to a local hospital. Srinagar Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Officer Dewan Azad Hossain confirmed the matter. Initially, it is believed that the accident may have started due to the driver’s sleepiness or failure to control the speed. Traffic movement was disrupted at the accident site for some time, but the situation returned to normal later.
