    Bus Cylinder explosion while refilling gas

    A cylinder explosion occurred while a bus was taking gas at a filling station in Lakshmipur. In this incident, three people were killed and at least 20 people were injured.

    This incident happened around 2.30 pm on Sunday. Doctors said that the condition of 10 of the injured is critical.

    The deceased are Sumon Hossain son of Charmansar Batumi of Bhabaniganj Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila, Suja Mia son of Banchanagar area. Yusuf Mia and Hriday Hossain. Al Amin, the manager of the filling station, said that three CNG drivers were killed, while the injured were bus and CNG drivers.

    Sumon Hossain, Rocky Islam, Mohammad Fahad Hossain, Siraj Mia, Shanto Khan and Abdul Malerek have been identified among the injured in this incident. As the condition of 10 people burnt in the accident is critical, they have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

    According to eyewitnesses, a Meghna Paribahan bus heading to Laxmipur-Ramgatti came to the Green Life filling station around 2.30 am. Meanwhile, while giving gas to the bus, suddenly the cylinder of the bus exploded. CNG drivers run to the station as it fills with smoke. Three CNG drivers died on the spot.

    Later, two units of fire service and police reached the spot and recovered the bodies of the three victims and sent them to Sadar Hospital morgue. The injured were rescued and admitted to Sadar Hospital. Later, when the condition worsened, the seriously injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The rest are being treated at Sadar Hospital.

    Ranjit Kumar, Station Officer of Laxmipur Fire Service, said, “We came and recovered the bodies of three people. I also came and saw some injured. The gas cylinder of the bus was of poor quality. That is why such an accident took place.

    Laxmipur Sadar Hospital doctor Zainal Abedin said, “Three bodies have arrived at the hospital. Besides, many others have been brought in injured. At least 10 of them have been referred to Dhaka as their condition is critical. Many have broken arms and legs.” isolated.
