Burnt body of youth recovered from bushes in Chatkhil
Police have recovered the half-burnt body of a youth named Md. Khokon (32) from Chatkhil upazila of Noakhali. The recovery of the burnt body has created a sensation in the area. Chatkhil Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Monaf confirmed the matter on Monday (April 6) morning.
Earlier, his body was recovered from a bush adjacent to Minister Poll in Daulatpur village of Chatkhil Municipality around 10 pm yesterday (April 5). The deceased is the son of Md. Faruk Hossain of Hossain Ali Patwari house in Khokon area. Police said that Khokon was a daily wage laborer. Khokon left his house after receiving a call from an unknown number around 10 pm last Thursday (April 2). He has been missing since then.
Despite an extensive search, the family filed a general diary (GD) with the police station on Saturday (April 4) night. Later, locals found his body in the bushes last night and informed the police. The police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, locals claim that the miscreants took him somewhere else, beat him up, burnt him to death and dumped the body in the bushes adjacent to the Minister’s Poll in Daulatpur village.
Law enforcement agencies have started an investigation to unravel the mystery of the murder. OC Abdul Monnaf also said that the body seems to have been burnt. However, nothing can be said until the forensic report is received. The victim’s family has filed a murder case in this incident, accusing unknown persons.
