BSF shot a youth and took away his body
A youth named Kamal Hussain (32) was killed in BSF firing at Comilla border. Meanwhile BSF personnel took his body to India.
The incident took place at Paharpur border of Sadar Dakshin Upazila of Comilla at around 8 pm on Monday.
Kamal is the son of Idu Mia of Kuriapara village of East Jorkanan Union of that upazila. According to local sources, he was involved in drug trade.
Locals said that on Monday night, Kamal went to illegally bring drug shipments from India through Paharpur border. He was killed on the spot when the BSF personnel opened fire. Kamal’s body was later taken to India by BSF personnel.
BGB Comilla 10 battalion captain Lt. Colonel Md. Iftekhar Hossain said, ‘Kamal went within 25 yards of the Indian border and was killed by BSF firing. This is what we initially found out. Attempts are being made to contact BSF. Attempts are being made to negotiate the return of the body. Details will be given later on this issue.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar South Police Station Rafiqul Islam said, “I heard the matter from the journalists. We will give details later after enquiry.
