BSF leaves under-construction structure due to BGB obstruction
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has strategically left a ring bridge under construction in front of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) barrier at the border in Dhabalsuti BOP area of Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat. The incident took place on Friday (January 2) afternoon.
According to local sources, the BSF tried to build a ring bridge near 828/2 S pillar on the Dhabalsuti BOP border. It was alleged that they started the work taking advantage of last Friday’s prayers. However, the matter was quickly caught by the vigilant surveillance of the BGB.
In this context, Dhabalsuti BOP Commander Havildar Anwar Hossain said that the BGB came to the attention of the BSF as part of regular patrolling and surveillance in the border area. Sensing the presence of the BGB, the BSF members left the under-construction ring bridge.
Anwar Hossain also said that the construction of such a unilateral and unauthorized structure on the border is a violation of international border law. The BGB has strongly condemned such actions by the BSF in this incident. Meanwhile, security has been strengthened in the border areas and BGB patrols and intelligence surveillance are continuing to maintain calm.
