Brother-in-law sentenced to death in sister-in-law and nephew murder case

A court has sentenced brother-in-law Sadiqur Rahman Sadaq to death for killing his sister-in-law and nephew in Araihazar, Narayanganj. Judge Abu Shamim Azad of the Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge’s Court gave this verdict on Thursday (November 6) afternoon.
Police Inspector Md. Qayyum Khan of the Narayanganj Court said that on the night of July 2, 2022, Sadiqur asked for a loan from his sister-in-law Razia Sultana Kakli. At that time, when his sister-in-law Razia expressed her inability to pay the money, brother-in-law Sadiqur Rahman hacked her to death with a sharp weapon. Later, brother-in-law hacked Razia’s sleeping son Talha (8) and fled with the gold ornaments kept in the cupboard.
The next day, Razia’s mother Taslima filed a case against unknown persons as a plaintiff in the incident. Later, the investigation into the case revealed the involvement of Debar Sadiqur and he was arrested and sent to jail through the court. After a long trial, the learned court announced the verdict in the case on Thursday.
