Brother dies while burying sister’s body

A sensational incident has taken place in Dugdugi village of Hauli union in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga. An elder brother died heartbreakingly while burying his sister’s body. The incident took place at 10 am today, Wednesday (October 29) in Dugdugi village of the upazila. Neighbors said that Shirina Khatun (50), wife of Nuru of Dugdugi village of Damurhuda upazila, died at her house sometime during the day or night on Tuesday.
This morning, the elder daughter Shantana had a dream that her mother had died. Later, she went to the house and called out but did not get any response to confirm the matter. The family started crying. Upon receiving the news of the death, Shirina Khatun’s brother Nizam Uddin (60) from Akandbaria village of the neighboring Darshana police station rushed to see his sister’s body. But he suddenly fell ill as soon as he saw the body. He breathed his last in the Uzirpur area on the way to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
Nizam Uddin is the eldest son of the deceased Janbar Mandal of Akandbaria village under Darshana police station. The death of his brother and sister has cast a shadow of grief over the area. The last rites of his sister Shirina Khatun were held at Dugdugi graveyard around 12 noon. On the other hand, after the funeral, the body of his brother Nizam Uddin will be buried at Tamaltala graveyard in Akandbaria village. The villagers are deeply saddened by such a heartbreaking incident.
