British High Commissioner pays courtesy call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mrs. Sarah Cook, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. She was accompanied by the High Commission’s Second Secretary, Mrs. Kate Ward.
Today, Wednesday (September 10), at 11 am, the courtesy call and exchange of views was held at Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s office in Bashundhara. During this time, the British High Commissioner inquired about the health of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and wished him a full recovery. The Central Publicity Department of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami gave this information through a press release.
The press release further informed that during the exchange of views, they discussed the overall situation in Bangladesh, establishment of democracy, upcoming elections, human rights, the condition of minorities in Bangladesh and the Rohingya problem. At the same time, discussions were also held on further improving and strengthening Bangladesh’s friendly relations with Great Britain.
Also present at the event were the organization’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, former member of parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, and Ameer-e-Jamaat’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, among others.
