Brick kiln worker’s body recovered two days after going missing in Noakhali
Two days after he went missing in Kabirhat, Noakhali, police have recovered the body of a brick kiln worker named Md. Sohel Rana (24). His body was recovered floating in a boat from Purba Rajurgaon village of Sundarpur union of the upazila on Sunday (March 29) morning.
Sohel Rana is the son of Oli Uddin, a resident of Uttar Shantipur village of Chandi union of Hatia upazila. He worked as a brick kiln worker.
The deceased’s father, Oli Uddin, said that his son did not go to work at the brick kiln last Friday morning. In the afternoon, his uncle Kamal and Saiful Majhi’s brother Altab tried to force him to the brick kiln. At that time, an argument started between them. Sohel Rana had been missing since the evening.
He also said that after his disappearance, family members searched in different places but could not find any trace of him. This morning, local workers saw a body floating in a pond near the brick kiln office and informed the police. Later, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. Family members identified the body as Sohel Rana. Kabirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan told us that initially it is believed that he drowned due to epilepsy. However, the matter is under investigation to know the real reason.
