Brent Christensen to be new US ambassador to Dhaka

President Donald Trump has nominated career diplomat Brent Christensen as the new US ambassador to Dhaka. The proposal was sent to the US Senate on Tuesday (August 2). His appointment will be finalized once it is passed by the upper house of the US Parliament. The US State Department has issued a press release informing about the issues. Brent currently serves as Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security. Previously, he was the Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at the US Embassy in Dhaka from 2019 to 2021. He earned a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College in 2022. Before joining the Foreign Service in 2002, he worked as a management consultant in Houston and New York City.
