Bomb threat to US voting station
Bomb threats have been made in five key states in the US presidential election. Most of these were sent from Russian e-mail domains, the FBI said. Bomb threats were made at polling stations in Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania during Tuesday’s election.
The country’s Central Intelligence Agency (FBI) has already warned about the threat of bomb attacks in several polling stations. The agency says several of these threats originate from Russia. But none of them seemed convincing.
FBI spokeswoman Savannah Sims said in a statement, “The FBI is aware of bomb threats in several states.” Many of them were sent from Russian e-mail domains.
Savannah Sims urged the US public to remain vigilant, saying, “None of the bomb threats have so far appeared credible.” Still, people need to be careful. Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensparger also said that the threat of bombing came from Russia.
Meanwhile, the FBI has set up a ‘National Election Command’ in Washington to detect any kind of threat day and night throughout the election week. Security has also been strengthened at nearly 100,000 polling stations in the United States.
In addition, the government has deployed the National Guard in the states of Oregon, Washington and Nevada. In addition, according to information provided by the Pentagon, the headquarters of the country’s defense forces, about 600 members of the National Guard have been kept ready in about 17 states.
