Body of a young man with his throat slit recovered in Hijla Upazila
The body of a young man named Md. Amir Hossain with his throat slit has been recovered from Meghna Boarchar in Hijla Upazila of Barisal. The body was recovered by the naval police at 11 am on Tuesday (January 20). The deceased Amir Hossain is the eldest son of Swapan Howlad, a farmer from Howladar Bari of Charghasia village in Ward No. 2 of Uttar Charbangshi Union in Raipur Upazila of Lakshmipur district.
A businessman from Chandrakhal area of Charbangshi said that Amir had gone fishing in the Meghna River yesterday morning as usual. At 5 pm, the family received a call from Barisal Medical College Hospital that the naval police had recovered Amir’s body with his throat slit from the banks of the Meghna River in Boarchar area of Barjali UP in Hijla Upazila of Barisal.
Amir’s body has been kept at the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy. The police have filed a case in this incident. Hijla Police Station OC Md. Adil Hossain said, “The death of the deceased Amir is mysterious. An investigation is underway to uncover the real cause and truth of the incident. The real incident will be known after the investigation.”
