BNP worker shot dead in Raozan

BNP worker Mohammad Mujib (56) was shot dead by killers in Raozan upazila of Chittagong. The incident took place at around 7:15 pm on Wednesday (February 25) at Olimia Hat Bazar in Purba Gujra Union of the upazila.
Witnesses said that Mujib was hanging out in front of Mofiz’s shop in the market after iftar. At that time, 3-4 armed youths fired 8-10 rounds at him. After being shot, Mujib, who was seriously injured, was taken to Raozan Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
Locals said that although Mujib was not a member of any BNP committee, he used to introduce himself as a BNP leader. However, he is an active BNP worker. Mujib is the son of Abdul Monaf of Madhyam Aadhar Manik area of ​​Ward No. 4 of Purba Gujra Union.
After inspecting the scene, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Raozan-Rangunia Circle Belayet Hossain said, “Initially, it is believed that the murder took place over a mediation meeting involving women.” Raozan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajedul Islam said, “Necessary legal action will be taken after investigating the incident.”
