    BNP wants quick elections, not a quick decision on the presidential issue

    BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that no decision can be taken hastily regarding the removal of the President.

    He said, “In order to deal with all the conspiracies, the power must be transferred to the hands of the political forces with quick elections through necessary reforms.”

    He said this after paying his respects at the grave of Ziaur Rahman in the capital on the occasion of the 46th founding anniversary of Jubo Dal on Sunday. Under the chairmanship of Youth Dal president Monayem Munnar and general secretary Nurul Islam Nayan, leaders and activists flocked to Ziaur Rahman’s grave.

    Mirza Fakhrul said about the meeting with the anti-discrimination student movement on the removal of the president, “The position will be clarified by discussing the issue at the highest forum of BNP.”

    He said, “National unity and any kind of rash decision cannot be taken to coordinate the revolution of Bangladesh in order to bring home the fruits of the mass upheaval.” Everything must be done according to the constitutional rules. For this, quick elections are needed.

    This BNP leader said, ‘After a long struggle against the fascist Awami League, the country became independent for the second time on August 5. The role of Yuva Dal in this struggle is undoubtedly significant. Jubo Dal will play a leading role in resisting those who do not want the good of Bangladesh.

    Standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, Advisor to Chairperson Moazzem Hossain Alal, BNP leader Saiful Alam Nirav, Sultan Salauddin Tuku, President of Krishak Dal Hasan Zafir Tuhin and others were also present along with BNP Secretary General.

    Meanwhile, on the occasion of the founding anniversary, Jubo Dal will hold a free medical camp and voluntary blood donation program on the ground floor of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan on Sunday afternoon. The program will be inaugurated by BNP Standing Committee member Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain. Mirza Abbas, another member of the party’s standing committee, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
