BNP ready to sign July Charter at any time: Salahuddin Ahmed
BNP is ready to sign the July Charter at any time, said Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP standing committee. He said this at a press conference at his residence in Gulshan on Monday (August 4). He said that after receiving the July Charter, BNP responded with some amendments on the 30th itself. He also said that BNP has provided maximum cooperation in the implementation of the Charter. The BNP leader said that the July Declaration has historical and political value. BNP responded to the proposal made in the declaration in February. BNP did not want to present March 26 in the proposal and also disagreed with it. In addition, state and constitutional recognition will be given through the Fourth Schedule. If the amendments made by BNP in the July Declaration are not accepted, BNP will give its next reaction after reading the declaration. Many are raising questions about the implementation of the Charter, saying that BNP is not cooperating. They are saying that they will not sign the Charter unless they get assurances. BNP has provided maximum cooperation in this regard. He also called on everyone to maintain anti-fascist unity. He further said that the consensus commission discussed 19 basic issues of the reform commission. Out of the 19, BNP gave a note of dissent on 7. And agreed on 12. The BNP leader also commented that BNP has not yet received an invitation to the declaration ceremony at Manik Mia Avenue.
