BNP Media Cell Statement
The BNP Media Cell has issued a statement after the High Court acquitted all the accused, including BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, in the August 21 grenade attack case. Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan sent a statement to the media in this regard on Sunday.
Expressing relief, the statement said that the High Court bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain, which overturned the trial court verdict, has proved that when the judicial system is impartial and free from influence, truth naturally prevails over falsehood.
The example of naked political interference in the judiciary that was set by unjustly and intentionally punishing Tarique Rahman in the August 21 grenade attack case, and the High Court’s acquittal once again proved that the victory of truth, albeit delayed, is inevitable, and this landmark verdict has created an extraordinary example of the judiciary once again establishing itself as the last refuge of the people.
The judiciary will remain the place of trust of the people above all influences, this is the universal expectation in a free Bangladesh.
